Let me tell you a little bit about me and mine.
Not an especially flattering photo, but this is me with my knitting needles getting ready to take some photos of how to knit.
The photo was taken by my youngest child - not really a child any more - he is eighteen!
Weird isn't it that I hid this photo from the family because it makes me look a bit blah, but I am prepared to put it on one of my websites for the whole world to see!
But this is a photo of at least one of the real Deb Masons (that's me by the way - Deb Mason.)
No there is not more than one, I just have a rather complex life.
On one hand, I am the mother of three adult children and the proud grandmother of a gorgeous six month old grand-daughter. But by day, I am the Finance Manager for a large government organisation in Adelaide (Australia).
I love the old crafts. I knit, sew, do various forms of embroidery and I spin my own yarn (when I get time). I also have a pottery wheel and a kiln in my back yard, and a mig welder for doing steel work in the shed.
But I am also a closet geek - I am addicted to my laptop!
Oh, and I ride a motor bike and drive a ute.
Not your typical grandmother I guess, if there even is such a thing anymore!
This site is a central part of my plans for the future.
I finally know what I want to do when I grow up!
Although I have at least another 12 years before I reach retirement age, I really want to be an at home Grandma with an online and offline knitting supplies business.
And here is my incentive - isn't she beautiful!
To achieve my goal the first step is to make this site a valuable resource for people like you, and you can help!
If you have any suggestions about how I can improve the site please drop me a line through my contact page.
I am looking forward to hearing from you!
Knitting Naturally is nearly one year old (June 10 2009) and Michaela is now 17 months old. Both of them are growing up quite nicely!
Isn't she gorgeous?
And she is sitting in Grandma's chair - no one is allowed to sit in Grandma's chair and she knows it!
Just in case you were wondering, her shirt says "My Dad's car is faster than yours" and it probably is.
Her Dad drives an RX8 (when he can afford the petrol).
Michaela is now nearly 2 years and 5 months old. I am no longer working as a Finance Manager, I just couldn't do it any more so I quit!
My days are spend working on my sites and running a store in what was my garage on a part time basis. I am open to the public for four days a week. Life is good (a bit scary as well to tell the truth, but good).
Michaela is now three and has a brand new baby sister - Amelia!
I still drive a ute, but I had to sell the motorbike and I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up. The store is temporarily closed as I am in the process of moving interstate to be closer to my mother after the very sad passing of my father.
Notice the different look and feel on some pages?
I am currently moving all of the pages to a new CSS driven template but with around 700 pages it is going to take me a while to get it done.
So in the meantime, I hope you will forgive the switch from one look to another as you navigate through the site...
Loom patterns for sweaters for the baby, toddler & small dog. There are adorable booties for babies, super warm slippers for adults, popular doll clothes and more. Knifty knitter looms or any similar in gauge will do.
