adding width to a finished afgahan

by Barbie

I finished knitting an afgan in a basketweave pattern and love it but it's not wide enough. Can I add on to the sides and how?

YOUR ANSWER

You have a couple of choices. You can knit two narrow pieces (one for each side) in the same basketweave pattern and sew them to the sides or you can pick up stitches along each side and knit out in a complimentary pattern.

You need to add on both sides so that the finished piece looks balanced.

Notice the different look and feel on some pages?

I am currently moving all of the pages to a new CSS driven template but with around 700 pages it is going to take me a while to get it done.

So in the meantime, I hope you will forgive the switch from one look to another as you navigate through the site...
