I belong to a group that knits for charity using donated wool. We have some Brushed Caressa with 7 ply (needle size 3.75) on the label but your reply to another person's question stated that Caressa was 8 ply.

Where could we get Caressa patterns or what equivalent patterns could we use?

YOUR ANSWER

A visitor has left a comment on another page letting us know that originally Patons Caressa was released as a 7 ply.

It was later changed to a standard 8 ply and more recently the name was used for a bulky yarn (now discontinued).

As for finding 7 ply patterns, all I can suggest is that you do an internet search and see what comes up. I would say that they are reasonably difficult to find - I only have one in my pattern collection

Alternatively you could use an 8 ply pattern but use larger needles so that you can match the tension.

Notice the different look and feel on some pages?

I am currently moving all of the pages to a new CSS driven template but with around 700 pages it is going to take me a while to get it done.

So in the meantime, I hope you will forgive the switch from one look to another as you navigate through the site...
