Don't understand pattern - please help!

I am a new knitter trying to knit my first sweater.

Thus far, I have knitted the back to the place I have to start binding off to shape the area where I will later connect the sleeves.

I do not understand the instructions given for this process where are:

SHAPE ARMHOLES (RS): Bind off at the beg of each row 3 sts twice, 2 sts 6 times, then 1 st 4 times 56 sts remain for Back

I would greatly appreciate if someone could explain the process written above.

Thank you,
Paula

Notice the different look and feel on some pages?

I am currently moving all of the pages to a new CSS driven template but with around 700 pages it is going to take me a while to get it done.

So in the meantime, I hope you will forgive the switch from one look to another as you navigate through the site...
