Hi, I am having trouble knitting beanies. The current pattern I am following is from Book 483 (probably Patons) Page 32, No. 23 Knitted Family Cap. My problem is with the crown, my completed beanie is about 4 inches too high, after having followed the pattern properly. YOUR ANSWERNot without seeing the pattern I'm afraid. It could be a problem with the pattern, typo's happen every now and then unfortunately. If you can find out who the publisher is you might be able to check the company website for any corrections. That will only work if the pattern book is fairly current though. Or it could be a problem with your tension. Did you check your tension before you started knitting? If your tension is looser than that specified in the pattern your finished items will be longer and wider than it should be. Sorry I could be of more help... |
