Hi, I am having trouble knitting beanies. The current pattern I am following is from Book 483 (probably Patons) Page 32, No. 23 Knitted Family Cap. My problem is with the crown, my completed beanie is about 4 inches too high, after having followed the pattern properly.

Can you help? Thank you.
Gloria

YOUR ANSWER

Not without seeing the pattern I'm afraid. It could be a problem with the pattern, typo's happen every now and then unfortunately. If you can find out who the publisher is you might be able to check the company website for any corrections. That will only work if the pattern book is fairly current though.

Or it could be a problem with your tension. Did you check your tension before you started knitting? If your tension is looser than that specified in the pattern your finished items will be longer and wider than it should be.

Sorry I could be of more help...

Notice the different look and feel on some pages?

I am currently moving all of the pages to a new CSS driven template but with around 700 pages it is going to take me a while to get it done.

So in the meantime, I hope you will forgive the switch from one look to another as you navigate through the site...
