I cannot read the cart to know how to knit this great neckercief.

I LOVE the "Dandy neckerchief" pattern at this site
I cannot, however, follow the chart. Can you / will you help me by translating the chart into words?

YOUR ANSWER

I could, but it would probably be better for you if I showed you how to do it yourself instead. That way you can do it for other patterns as well.

If you have a look at the side of the chart you should see the legend. Each of the symbols on the chart have a definition, and you use that legend to work out the instructions for each row.

Blank squares are knit stitches so your first row (reading from right to left) are k2, the circle means YO and the forward slash means k2 tog. Then there is another YO followed by k1. The back slash means ssk.

You just work your way along each row writing down the instructions as you go.

So the first row would look like this:

K2, yo, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k5, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, yo, k2.

Notice the different look and feel on some pages?

I am currently moving all of the pages to a new CSS driven template but with around 700 pages it is going to take me a while to get it done.

So in the meantime, I hope you will forgive the switch from one look to another as you navigate through the site...
