Passing a slipped stitch over two knitted stitches

by Olivia Liebermann
(Austin, TX)

My pattern says sl1, k2, psso. It does not say k2tog.

Is there such a stitch, passing a slipped stitch over two knitted stitches not together? When I finish the row and turn it those two stitches are too close together.

YOUR ANSWER

Hi Olivia

Yes there is such a stitch. I am using it on a baby shawl I am knitting at the moment.

The two stitches are closer together when you get to the second row and you will need to pay attention to what you are doing while you are knitting (or purling) this row but the effect is rather nice.

All I can suggest is that you loosen your tension just a bit so that the slipped stitch is not quite a tight.
