I trying to complete a scarf and the pattern calls for KB1. What is meant and how do I do this?

YOUR ANSWER

This abbreviation usually means to knit into the back of one stitch. Normally to knit a stitch you insert the point of the right hand needle into the front of the next stitch on the left hand needle, wrap the yarn around the tip and pull it through to form a loop on the right hand needle.

To do KB1, you insert the tip of the right hand needle into the back of the stitch on the left hand needle instead.

Mind you, I say usually as the same abbreviation can be used to mean different things in different patterns. I would advise you to check your pattern instructions for abbreviations just to be sure.

Notice the different look and feel on some pages?

I am currently moving all of the pages to a new CSS driven template but with around 700 pages it is going to take me a while to get it done.

So in the meantime, I hope you will forgive the switch from one look to another as you navigate through the site...
