Pattern Problems

by Betty
(England)

In the start of the pattern it say's cast on 146 stitches then knit 7 rows casting on 20 stitches on the last row then it tells you to start the pattern first row which should be the right side (surely if you knit 7 rows you will be starting on a wrong side row). Are they just saying that the wrong side will now be the right side or have I misread the pattern.

Sorry for your time and thank you for any help.

YOUR ANSWER

You didn't read the pattern wrong. What you thought of as the wrong side is now the right side.

You will find that this is quite common when a pattern has a garter stitch border so that the first row seems to be a row of purl or 'bumpy' stitches. It just looks better...

Notice the different look and feel on some pages?

I am currently moving all of the pages to a new CSS driven template but with around 700 pages it is going to take me a while to get it done.

So in the meantime, I hope you will forgive the switch from one look to another as you navigate through the site...
