Rolled Edge on Blanket

by Vivian

I knit a small blanket and after casting off the edge rolled and I was unable to straighten it. Why would this happen?

YOUR ANSWER

Your blanket must b e knitted in stocking stitch. Stocking stitch does have a tendency to roll or curl at the edges.

You can fix it during knitting by knitting the first and last stitch on every row. For a completed item, you have a couple of options.

You can block the blanket each time you wash it or you can add a small border around the edge. A narrow crochet usually works or you can knit a narrow border.
