Sewing Together a Baby Sweater

I have finished all the pieces of my baby sweater- now I need to know how to sew them together- I am starting on the shoulder seams- two bound off edges- cannot get it to look right.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

I usually use an invisible seam to sew up the shoulders on most garments. You will find a description of the method on this page.

Usually what I do is to thread the needle behind a complete stitch on one shoulder and then thread it behind the corresponding stitch on the other shoulder. If you give the thread a slight tug, it should put the two stitches together and your stitching should look just like another row of knitting.

When I get time (and I have a garment ready to sew up) I will add a video to this page to demonstrate the method.

Notice the different look and feel on some pages?

I am currently moving all of the pages to a new CSS driven template but with around 700 pages it is going to take me a while to get it done.

So in the meantime, I hope you will forgive the switch from one look to another as you navigate through the site...
