Slip 11 stitches?

by Donna

I am making a shawl that is made with the first 11 stitches in each row slipped as the pattern says S11 then you knit or pearl the rest of the row. I am assuming that you leave a length of the wool so that it is not tight to when you start knitting after slipping. What do I do with all the loops of wool that are left after I slip the 11 stitches?

What do I do with them when I am finished the piece???

I am thinking that I am doing this incorrectly.

Please help!

Fairly novice knitter, Donna

YOUR ANSWER

I have never seen this before. Quite a few of my patterns have slip 1 stitch at the beginning of every row, but 11 seems excessive to me.

It could be a typo.

But it is hard to say without seeing the pattern or a picture of the finished article. Maybe if you could give me more details about the pattern or send me a copy I might be able to work it out for you.

Notice the different look and feel on some pages?

I am currently moving all of the pages to a new CSS driven template but with around 700 pages it is going to take me a while to get it done.

So in the meantime, I hope you will forgive the switch from one look to another as you navigate through the site...
