YOUR ANSWER

My translation of your patterns instructions assumes that the decrease is all done knit-wise, I am also assuming that you are right handed!

Basically what you need to do is knit the first seven stitches in whatever rib pattern you are using for your slippers, the decrease is worked over five stitches as follows:

**Slip your right hand needle into the first stitch on the left hand needle and just slip it onto the right hand needle (now holding seven knitted stitches plus the slipped stitch).

Knit the next stitch on the left hand needle as you normally would, then slip the left hand needle into the front of the second stitch on the right hand needle (the slipped stitch) and lift it over the knitted stitch.

Then you knit the next stitch. Finally you need to knit two stitches together.

You do this by slipping the right hand needle through the first two stitches on the left hand needle, wind the wool around the needle and pull the yarn through to form a loop on the right hand needle.

Holding the new stitch on the right hand needle, slip the two stitches off the left hand needle.**

Work your three stitches in the rib pattern and repeat the decrease stitches (between ** and **) and then finish the row following the rib pattern.
