Trying to fix the wrong row
by: Anonymous

Hi Joanne,

I just had a thought about your problem. I think you are trying to fix the wrong row!

When you are knitting (or purling) a row the stitches you are forming are the ones on the needle. What I think is happening is that you are trying to tighten the tension on the purl rows as you knit them, but when you turn the work to check you are looking at the last complete row of knitting below the needle and finding that it is too tight compared to the one below it.

But the last complete row under the needle is actually your last knit row of stitches. (The purl stitches are still on the needle).

Try loosening the tension on your purl rows instead of trying to tighten them and it just might fix the problem!

Regards,
Deb

Notice the different look and feel on some pages?

I am currently moving all of the pages to a new CSS driven template but with around 700 pages it is going to take me a while to get it done.

So in the meantime, I hope you will forgive the switch from one look to another as you navigate through the site...
