This garter stitch check knitting stitch pattern is another easy stitch pattern to master and the resulting knitted fabric is very effective.  It is also an easy stitch pattern to alter or amend to change the size of the checks.

Instructions for Garter Stitch Check Knitting Stitch Pattern

Garter Stitch Check is knitted over a multiple of 10 stitches and 12 rows. 

1st and all alt right side rows: K to end of row.
2nd row: *K5, p5; rep to end of row.
Repeat these 2 rows twice.

7th and all alt right side rows: K to end of row.
8th row: *P5, k5; rep to end of row.
Repeat these 2 rows twice (twelve rows in total).

Repeat these twelve rows until your knitting is the length desired.
